It's the ideal blend of fun-filled daycare and personalized overnight care, tailored to maintain your dog's routine and happiness while you're away.
What makes a PAWS Pro different from a pet sitter on Kijiji, Facebook, or Rover?
PAWS Pros are current or former PAWS staff members who've undergone rigorous training in dog behaviour. They know the PAWS pack, they know the routines, and they know your dog — providing continuity of care that no outside platform can match.
How are PAWS Pros vetted and trained?
Every PAWS Pro is either a current or former member of our daycare staff. They undergo an extensive training regimen centred on dog behaviour, ensuring your dog stays safe, happy, and comfortable in a home-like environment at night.
Are PAWS Pros insured and bonded?
Yes. Every PAWS Pro is comprehensively covered by PAWS Dog Daycare's business insurance — both inside our facility and when pet sitting in their own homes. You get the same accountability and protection no matter where your dog is.
Can PAWS Pros accommodate special needs or medical conditions?
Absolutely. Our PAWS Pros often already have an established relationship with your dog, which is a significant advantage over outside services. They can give your dog the specific attention and care they require — far beyond what a high-volume kennel could offer.
Will my pet be left alone for long periods?
Your dog is always with someone. During the day they enjoy the full daycare experience — pack walks, potty breaks, and socialization. In the evening they retire to the PAWS Pro's home for rest and personal attention — cozy, one-on-one home-style care.
What is your policy on updates and communication?
Our policy is direct, personal communication — text and picture updates straight from your PAWS Pro, with no middleman. You'll always know exactly what your dog is up to.
What happens if there's an emergency during my pet's stay?
PAWS Pros are backed by a full team. If something happens to your designated Pro, another qualified PAWS Pro steps in seamlessly. For routine care we use Animal Clinic Calgary; for emergencies, Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre on 10th Ave SW.
Can I meet the PAWS Pro before committing?
Yes — it's part of our process. Once we match you with a Pro for your requested dates, they'll reach out directly so you can get acquainted, discuss your dog's needs, and feel completely confident before the stay begins.
Can I request the same PAWS Pro for future stays?
Yes, and we encourage it. Availability isn't always guaranteed, but we do our best to match you with your preferred Pro. If they're unavailable, another equally qualified Pro will provide the same standard of care.
